PELLA, Iowa (Sept. 24, 2013) –
For the third straight contest, the North Central College men's soccer team ended in a draw, tying Central College (Iowa), 1-1 in the final tune-up before College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play.
 
The Cardinals (4-2-3) outshot the Dutch (5-3-1) by a 13-3 margin in the opening half but neither team was able to find the back of the net.
 
In the second half, Central's Adelmo Marchiori IV connected on a pass from Aleksander Glavas, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute.
 
Just over five minutes later, the Cardinals found the equalizer as Ricardo Serrano sent home his second goal of the season, knotting the score 1-1 in the 54th minute.
 
North Central outshot Central 28-12 in the contest, including an 8-1 advantage in overtime, but the Cardinals could not find the game-winner in the extra frames.
 
The Cardinals open CCIW play Saturday, Sept. 28, travelling to Millikin University at 2:30 pm.
