RIVER FOREST, Ill. (Sept. 26, 2013) – The North Central College women's tennis team snapped a two-match skid Thursday afternoon, cruising past Dominican University, 9-0 at Taylor Park.
 
The Cardinals (6-4) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, sweeping all three doubles matches as Katie Drone and Kelsey Forkin defeated Jillian Metcalf and Marbeya Berner, 8-3 at the No. 1 position.  At No. 2, the Cardinal duo of Miranda Grizaffi and Kayla Garcia made easy work of Megan Hickey and Natalie Bestler, 8-1, while Erin Proffit and Clare O'Connor cruised past Stephanie Castaneda and Katelyn Ratterman, 8-2 at No. 3.
 
In singles play, Drone was victorious at No. 1 over Metcalf, 6-0, 6-1, while Grizaffi defeated Berner, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2 and Forkin downed Hickey at No. 3 in straight 6-2, 6-2 sets.  At No. 4, Garcia beat Bestler, 6-2, 6-1, while O'Connor was victorious over Castaneda, 6-0, 6-1 and Hannah Higgins defeated Kelly Pompea, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.
 
North Central hosts Augustana College in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) dual match, Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 pm.
