DECATUR, Ill. (Sept. 28, 2013) – Opening up College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play Saturday, the North Central College men's soccer squad allowed a first minute goal and fell 1-0 at Millikin University.
 
The Big Blue's Zach Solorio found the back of the net just 45 seconds in, connecting on a pass from Nick Abel to give Millikin an early 1-0 lead.
 
The Cardinals (4-3-3, 0-1-0 CCIW) outshot the Big Blue (2-6-1, 1-0-0 CCIW) by a 31-12 margin, including a 10-6 margin in shots on goal, but were unable to find the equalizer.  North Central also held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Jake Muszczynski and Chandler Olah led the Cardinals with two shots of goal apiece.
 
Kyle DeRaedt stopped four shots in the losing effort in goal, while Daniel Sinclair recorded the shutout for Millikin, making 10 saves on the afternoon.
 
North Central takes on CCIW foe Wheaton College, Oct. 4 at 7 pm inside Joe Bean Stadium.
