Oct. 1, 2014 - The North Central College men's soccer team fought hard for a 3-1 win against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday night.
Senior
Matt Koth was all over the field for the Cardinals (6-3-1) as they visited the Raiders (8-3) with two goals and an assist.
Matt Koth (8) scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute with some nice passing coming from senior
Lucas Habeeb (5), who leads the team with five assists on the season.
The Cardinals defense was stingy in allowing only three shots on goal for the entire match. The Raiders did not get a shot past goalie
Zach Serovy until the 42nd minute, making it a 1-1 tie going into halftime.
Both teams began the second half with one goal apiece. However, it did not take long at all for the Cardinals to grab the lead back in the 50th minute after a goal from sophomore forward
Chandler Olah (3) with the pass coming from
Matt Koth (4).
The Cardinals did not let off the gas after the second goal and they scored again in the 61st minute with
Matt Koth (8) taking charge himself and scoring the third goal of the game. This put the Cardinals up 3-1 and they took the lead to the end of the match improving their record to 6-3-1.
