Oct. 10, 2014 – Improving to 9-4 this season, the most wins since 2010, the North Central College women's tennis team fought out a 6-3 win over Purdue University Calumet at the NCC Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.
 
The Cardinals (9-4) jumped out to a 2-1 lead over the Peregrines (2-2) after doubles play as Katie Drone and Hanna Andersson teamed up to defeat Ashley Pabey and Abby Kvachkoff, 8-1 at the No. 2 position, while Clare O'Connor and Kassandra Bernardo shut out Kasey Kulesa and Breanna Sanchez, 8-0 at No. 3.
 
In singles play, Kelsey Forkin made quick work of Pabey at the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-1 while Reynolds Cross needed three sets but came out with a 6-3, 1-6, 11-9 win at No. 4.  At the No. 5 spot, O'Connor breezed past Kulesa in straight 6-2 sets, and Andersson cruised past Sanchez, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6 position.
 
North Central closes out the regular season schedule on Sunday, Oct. 12, playing host to Roosevelt University at 10 am.
