Freshman Borzick Wins CCIW Defensive Player of the Week

Oct. 7, 2014 - North Central College freshman midfielder Jon Borzick was named one of this week's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Players of the Week along with North Park University midfielder Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh on Tuesday. 

Borzick recorded one point and one assist in helping the Cardinals to a 1-1-0 record on the week. He helped in shutting out Concordia University-Chicago on Oct. 8 for a 2-0 win and followed with a key assist in a tough 4-3 loss to No. 18 North Park University Oct. 11.

This was the second consecutive week a player from the men's team won the Player of the Week honors this season. Junior Matt Koth was the first Cardinal to receive the award this season.
