Box Score

HOLLAND, Mich. (August 30, 2014): The North Central College men's soccer team played their second game of the Cal Bergsma Invitational and got their first win of the season in a 1-0 effort.

The Cardinals (1-1-0) faced off against Calvin College (1-1-0) and the game proved to be a tough one with tough defense coming from both sides.

Sophomore transfer goalie, Sebastian Garcia, was a stalwart racking up 13 saves with zero goals allowed. The offensively-focused Calvin Knights had multiple players with four or more shots. Garcia simply took over on his end of the field and helped the Cardinals to a win.

The lone goal of the game came from senior forward, Lucas Habeeb.

The Knights were called for a foul in the 64th minute and the Cardinals were given a free kick. Habeeb took the kick and missed but followed through and scored off of his own rebound.

The Cardinals continue their season Sept. 3, against Dominican University at 4:00 PM.
