Sep. 23, 2014 - North Central College women's cross country runner Megan Costanzo has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week for Sep. 15-21, giving her the distinction for the second straight week.

Costanzo was selected for the honor on the strength of her efforts in the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday at St. James Farm. She placed fourth in a field of 212 competitors with a time of 22 minutes, 14 seconds on the 6,000-meter (3.7-mile) course and helped lead the Cardinals to a third-place finish in the 15-team event.

She received the first CCIW Athlete of the Week accolades of her collegiate career last week after a second-place individual finish in the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational.

North Central returns to St. James Farm on Friday to compete in the College of DuPage Invitational, with competition scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
