(September 3, 2014): The North Central College Cardinals brought back their second win of the season Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Dominican University at Dominican's West Campus Field.
The Cardinals
(2-1-0) fought for a tough victory. The game got off to a fast pace with multiple shots being taken in the opening minutes.
North Central did not take long to get on the board with an 18-yard goal from
Evan Landmark (2) in the 26
th minute. The goal came off an assist from senior forward
Lucas Habeeb. The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead going into the half.
The second half started off slow with a good amount of fouls but the Cardinals extended their lead with another goal at the 57
th minute.
Sophomore midfielder
Mark Brindle (1) scored off a rebound in front of the goal. His quick reactions brought the Cardinals' lead up to 2-0.
The Cardinals maintained their lead for the rest of the game despite a late goal at the 78
th minute from Dominican
(0-2-0).
North Central faces off against visiting Central College on Saturday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Naperville Community Television, Channel 17, and nctrl17.com
