Oct. 12, 2015 - North Central College football player Austin Breunig has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10.

Breunig collected the award, the first of his collegiate career, after enjoying a breakout performance in the Cardinals' 47-20 victory over CCIW rival North Park University on Saturday. He rushed for 221 yards and scored two touchdowns on just 19 carries as North Central totaled a single-game school record 693 yards of total offense.

Breunig, whose previous single-game best was 97 yards, leads the Cardinals with 538 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground this season. After two conference games, he is the CCIW's leader in rushing yards (312) in CCIW play.

North Central now has two CCIW Player of the Week Award winner this season, as kicker/punter Dom Zavaglia was selected as the CCIW's Special Teams Player of the Week for Sep. 26.
