North Central College finds itself with two representatives on the first team, and two representatives on the second team. Head coach
Matt Klosterman was also named CCIW Joe Bean Coach of the Year.
Senior forward
Matt Koth and junior goalkeeper
Justin De Boer were named to the first team, while sophomore midfielder
Jon Borzick and senior midfielder
Joey Faleni were named to the second team.
Despite being heavily scouted by opposing teams, Koth was damaging in attack for the Cardinals, recording four goals for the season, two of which were game-winners. He also had one assist and nine points in total.
De Boer's consistency in goal was an integral factor in the Cardinals run to the CCIW Tournament championship game. He recorded 65 saves on the season, with a save percentage of .783. He also recorded four shutouts.
Borzick was often tasked with shutting down the opposition's best player, which he did several times throughout the season. Most notably, on Oct. 10 against then 15
th-ranked North Park University he kept CCIW leading goal scorer Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh goalless for the first time all season.
Faleni's leadership was instrumental in the Cardinals historic run to the CCIW tournament, and a staple in the Cardinals lineup as he was the only player to start all 20 games. He led the team in shots with 34 and shots on goal with 13. He also recorded one goal for the season
The Joe Bean Coach of the Year award has been given out every year since 1996, and Coach Klosterman is the first coach in Cardinal history to be honored with the award.
The Cardinals finished the season with a 5-14-1 overall record and a 4-3 record in the CCIW.
