Nov. 2, 2015 - North Central College football player Al Willett has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 31.
Willett earned the award, the second of his collegiate career, for his contributions to the Cardinals' 33-15 victory at then-No. 15-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. He scored North Central's second special-teams touchdown of the season after recovering an errant snap on a punt attempt and returning it five yards to the end zone and also turned in three solo special-teams tackles.
Willett was also named the CCIW's Special Teams Player of the Week following the 2014 season finale at Elmhurst.
North Central now has three CCIW Player of the Week Award winner this season, as kicker/punter Dom Zavaglia was selected as the CCIW's Special Teams Player of the Week for Sep. 26 and running back Austin Breunig was named the Offensive Playerof the Week for Oct. 10.
