Nov. 22, 2015 - The North Central College men's basketball team was unable to get untracked after a sluggish first half at Gregory Arena on Sunday, providing the University of Chicago Maroons with an opportunity to take a large early lead and make off with a 74-61 win over the Cardinals in the final game of the North Central Tip-Off Tournament.

North Central (1-1) missed eight of its first 10 shots and struggled to just 7 of 30 accuracy (23.3 percent) from the floor in the first half, but still faced only a 14-11 deficit midway through the first half before the Maroons put scored 15 consecutive points in a six-minute stretch to open up an 18-point advantage. Chicago wound up taking a 38-21 edge into halftime, having made 7 of 15 three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.

The Cardinals rediscovered their shooting touch in the second half, shooting 50 percent from the field (16 of 32), but were never able to get closer than eight points down the stretch.

Connor Raridon paced North Central with 14 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Jagger Anderson scored 11 points and Alex Sorenson put up 10. Raridon and Sorenson were named to the All-Tournament Team as well.

Waller Perez led five Chicago double-figure scorers with 16 points and five assists. Nate Brooks added 15 points, Scott Herlihy put up 12 and Jordan Smith and Alex Voss each scored 11. Voss was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
