The Cardinals (22-13, 2-5 CCIW) fell behind early in the first set, trailing by a 14-8 margin, a 9-2 run turned the tables to give North Central a 17-16 lead. The Cardinal rally was highlighted by three kills from
Amanda Walker, as well as a pair off the hand of
Claire Vrabec.
North Central held a 22-20 lead late, but the Vikings (13-17, 1-6 CCIW) closed the set by scoring five of the final six points, including three kills from Hayley Brake to take the set 25-23.
Set two was all North Park as the Vikings surged to a 12-4 lead early, forcing North Central to use each of its two timeouts early in the set. The Vikings never looked back, leading by as many as 10 points down the stretch, while eventually closing out the set 25-16.
North Central held a 24-20 lead late in set number three, but could not capitalize on four straight set points to let the Vikings back into the set 24-24. The Cardinals held set point twice, leading 25-24 and 26-25, but once again could not put home the set-winning kill as North Park rallied to gain its own set point and would go on to win the set 30-28.
Cara Howell led the Cardinal attack with 10 kills on the evening, finishing the season with 404 kills, good for ninth on the program's single-season list. Her 53 service aces this season also rank tied for 10
th on the single-season list.
Walker turned in five kills in the match, finishing her career 10
th on the program's career kills list (741), while her three total blocks give her 321 for her career, good for third on the program's all-time list. Her 122 total blocks this season also rank her tied for 10
th on the program's single-season list.
Laura Kluk finished with a team-high 26 kills, increasing her already career leading mark to 3,831. Kluk also finishes her career tied for fourth in career service aces with 144, while also ranking ninth in career blocks with 184.
North Central finishes the 2015 season with an overall record of 22-13, while going 2-5 in CCIW play, finishing seventh in the conference standings.
