ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Dec. 30, 2015) –
Despite facing a 12-point deficit early in the second half, the North Central College men's basketball team used a 20-1 run to take down NAIA foe Robert Morris University Chicago, 69-65 in comeback fashion Wednesday evening.

North Central (6-4) struggled in stopping the Robert Morris long range attack, as the Eagles (5-2) led nearly the entire first half and finished shooting 47 percent from the field, including 7-of-12 from three-point range to take a commanding 41-31 lead into the intermission.

After a Robert Morris basket opened the second half scoring, the Cardinal offense came alive to the tune of a 20-1 run while the defense held the Eagles to zero field goals over the seven and a half minute run to turn the tables and take a 51-44 lead.  The rally was highlighted by a pair of long balls from Jayme Moten, while Alex Sorenson added a dunk, a pair of free throws and three blocked shots during the span.

Three points was as close as the Eagles would come to the Cardinal lead down the stretch, narrowing the score 61-58 with 3:03 to play in the contest.  Despite scoring just one field goal the remaining three minutes of the contest, North Central's free throw shooting was sufficient enough to seal the victory 69-65.

The Cardinal defense held the Eagles to just 21 percent shooting in the second half, including a 1-for-11 mark from three-point range.

Connor Raridon led the Cardinal offense with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field.  Sorenson finished with his third double-double of the season, adding 13 points as well as a game-high 14 rebounds and six blocks.  Jagger Anderson finished with a career-high 11 rebounds to go along with eight points, while Kevin Honn added nine points and eight boards.

Robert Morris' Terrelle Green led all players with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, while Darius Randolph and Johnny Stevens also finished in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

North Central is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 2, opening College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play against North Park University at 7 p.m.  Links to live in-game statistics, audio and video are available HERE.
