Sep. 22, 2015 - North Central College senior Megan Costanzo has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Sep. 14-20. The CCIW made its announcement Tuesday.

Costanzo made her 2015 season debut on Saturday, competing in the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational at St. James Farm in Warrenville. Costanzo placed second in a field of 200 athletes, completing the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 14 seconds.

She was an All-CCIW and All-Region performer last season and is coming off an outdoor track & field season which saw her earn All-America honors in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

The Cardinals are idle this week before traveling to South Bend, Indiana for the Notre Dame Invitational and sending a squad to Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Illinois for the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational on Friday, Oct. 2.
