CCIW Press Release

Sep. 28, 2015 -
North Central College football player Dom Zavaglia has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Sep. 26.

Zavaglia became the first Cardinal to earn Player of the Week honors from the CCIW on the strength of his performance in Saturday's game, a 50-49 loss to No. 5-ranked Wesley College (Delaware). In addition to converting on all seven of his extra-point attempts, Zavaglia also posted a career-best 46.0-yard average on seven punting attempts, including a career-long 54-yard punt.

He was a First Team All-CCIW selection as a kicker in 2014, when he tied North Central's single-game record with 13 made field goals. He has made 16 of 17 extra-point kicks and ranks third in the CCIW in punting average (39.4) thus far this season.

21st-ranked North Central (1-2) opens CCIW play on Saturday at Millikin Univeristy (1-2). Kickoff at Frank M. Lindsay Field is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Links to live audio, video and in-game statistics are available by clicking HERE.
