Waukesha, Wis. (Oct. 19, 2016) – Looking to win their fourth College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) game for the first time in program history, the North Central College women's soccer team was denied as they fell 2-0 to Carroll University Wednesday night at Schneider Stadium

The Cardinals (4-7-2, 3-2 CCIW) came out extremely efficient in the first half, with all five of their shots being put on goal. Unfortunately, the Carroll goalie was able to keep the Cardinals scoreless in the first half. For the first 30 minutes, North Central was able to halt the Pioneer offense but in the 31^st minute Delaney Pruitt was able to break the tie after Rachel Van Sluys dribbled by three Cardinal defenders for a perfect assist.

Down 1-0 after the break, North Central continued their efficiency as Jessica DeJong logged a shot just five minutes into the second half but had her shot saved. In the 56^th minute Carroll would add to their lead as Van Sluys was at it again, this time finding Sabrina Georgeff.

North Central won the shots battle 12-8 including an 8-5 shots on goal advantage. DeJong led all players with four shots on the day.

Pruitt tallied her 12^th goal of the year while Georgeff logged her 6^th for Carroll (12-3-1, 3-1-1 CCIW). Christina O'Block finished with eight saves for the Pioneers while Nicki Seiton ended with three.

The Cardinals will continue to chase that fourth win as they return back home to host Wheaton College on Saturday, October 22. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm with senior day festivities to begin before kickoff. Live stats and video can be found HERE.
