Aurora, Ill. (Oct. 24, 2016) – Closing out their non-conference schedule for the 2016 season, the North Central College women's soccer team dropped their third straight game, losing to Aurora University 5-2, Monday afternoon at Vago Field.
The host Spartans took an early lead at the 16
th minute mark Jasmine Ascencio scored her third goal of the season. The Cardinals (4-9-2) tied the score at 24:58 when

Jessica DeJong for her third goal of the season. Aurora would take the lead back at the end of the first half, when Alexis Abelove scored at the 43:47 mark and allow the hosts to take the lead into the break.
North Central would again come back and tie the game as senior
Taylor Markanich logged her fourth goal of the year in the 66
th minute, assisted again by
Noelia Reyes. Less than a minute later, the Spartans again took the lead, this time for good. Aurora would go on to score two more times, once in the 68
th minute and 13 seconds before the end of regulation, resulting in a 5-2 final.
The shot comparison was close by the end of the match, with Aurora capitalizing on their 11 shots and seven on goal while the Cardinals finished with ten shots and six shots on goal. The two goal scorers, DeJong and Markanich, paced the way for North Central with three shots each. Â
Gretchen Frantz logged all 90 minutes in goal, recording two saves on the day.
