Elmhurst, Ill. (Oct. 5, 2016) – Remaining perfect in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) competition, the North Central College women's soccer team defeated Elmhurst College 2-0 Wednesday evening at Langhorst Field.

The Cardinals (3-5-2, 2-0 CCIW) wasted little time getting on the board as Juliana Salzano was able to give her team the lead in the 11^th minute, scoring after the ball bounced off the post. Three minutes later, North Central was able to increase the lead as a pass from Yasmin Chavez to Jessica DeJong was able to find the upper left corner from 25 yards out.

North Central took that 2-0 lead into halftime, owning a 12-9 shot advantage including four shots on goal. The second half was all defense for both teams as neither team recorded a shot on goal yet Elmhurst held an 8-3 advantage after the intermission.

The Cardinals defense has stepped up as of late, recording two straight shutouts against conference opponents. Salzano recorded her first goal of the season while DeJong tabbed her second.

Goalkeeper Nicki Seiton logged two saves in the contest and recorded her 12^th career shutout, two behind all-time leader Elise Manzie.
