CHICAGO, Ill. (Nov. 1, 2016) – Closing out the season at North Park University on Tuesday, the North Central College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) match inside the North Park Gymnasium.
North Central (14-16, 0-8 CCIW) trailed most of the opening set as the Viking attack came out swinging and rolled to a 25-18 win behind a .457 attack percentage, finishing the set with 18 kills to just two errors.
The turning point of set two came with the Vikings (8-21, 2-6 CCIW) holding a slim 21-20 advantage, as a Cardinal service error sparked a 4-0 North Park rally, while Katherine Read closed out the set with back-to-back service aces.
Set three was all North Park as North Central hit -.053, finishing the set with seven kills and nine errors, dropping the final set 25-11.
Cara Howell led the Cardinal attack with five kills, while
Val Hunt led the way with 13 assists and
Ashley Powers added 10. Defensively,
Olivia Hanley recorded 10 digs while Howell added six.
Two Vikings finished with double figure kills, led by Lauren Wiltsie's 13 while Reagan Clement finished with 10. Kajsa Meyer dished out 34 assists, while Wiltsie added 14 digs on defense.
The Cardinals close out the season with an overall record of 14-16, going 0-8 in CCIW play.
