Mar. 23, 2016 -Â After helping lead the North Central College men's volleyball team to a 3-0 record in competition last week, freshman outside hitter
Bozhidar Kolev has been selected as the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Offensive Player of the Week for Mar. 14-20.
Kolev is the first Cardinal to earn Player of the Week honors from the MCVL due to his contributions to North Central's trio of 3-0 victories over Illinois Institute of Technology, Olivet College and Adrian College.
He hit .538 with eight kills on Wednesday at Illinois Tech, then piled up 12 kills with an .800 hitting percentage against Olivet on Friday before turning in nine kills and seven digs against Adrian on Saturday. He finished the week with an attack percentage of .532.
The Cardinals (6-15, 4-7 MCVL) are back in action Wednesday, traveling to Lakeland College (Wisconsin) to play Marian University (Wisconsin) at 4:00 p.m., followed by a 6:00 match against Lakeland.
