Jan 28, 2016- The North Central College men's volleyball team opened conference play with a 3-0 win against Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan Saturday evening.

The Cardinals started the match with fire going on an 11-1 point run, which they followed with another five consecutive points and Adrian timeout. Freshman
Jason Eslinger and sophomore
Anthony Kluzak each tallied two kills on the run. Meanwhile freshman
Nick Lilley recorded one. The Cardinals held off Bulldogs offensively hitting .533, winning the set 25-10.

North Central remained dominant in the second set opening with five straight points. Adrian responded going on a 7-2 run bringing the score to 8-6 in the Cardinals favor. A kill from sophomore
Jake Braceros in the middle of the set, triggered the North Central offense. The momentum stayed in North Central's favor and they closed out the set winning 25-17.

With the game on the line, Adrian went point for point with North Central. A set from freshman
Michael Trunzo to Eslinger sparked a five point run for the Cardinals and a timeout for Adrian College. Adrian answered with their own four point run, making it a 2-point set. The set remained within three points until the end where a kill from Braceros sealed the match for the Cardinals. North Central ended the set winning 25-23.

North Central improved to a record of 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Lilley earned a match high of nine kills while Trunzo recorded a game high of 31 assists and five digs.
