Oct. 10, 2017- North Central College junior Gavin Sanchez has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The CCIW announced its selection Tuesday.

A two-time Academic All-CCIW athlete and the current leading scorer with five goals this season. Sanchez received this week's recognition after scoring a total of three goals in the last two CCIW match ups on October 3^rd and 7^th versus Elmhurst College and Millikin University respectively.

His first goal in North Central's 3-0 shutout against Elmhurst occurred in the 22^nd minute off an assist by Sean Sweeney to put the Cardinals up 1-0 early against Elmhurst. Sanchez's second goal was earned in the 86^th minute off an assist by midfielder Sean Woodford.

Following up with a two-goal game, Gavin Sanchez while tied with Millikin scored the game-winning goal in the 79^th minute extending the Cardinals' win CCIW win streak to 3-0.
