Dec. 11, 2017 – Held to a season-low point total, the North Central College women's basketball team struggled from three-point range on Monday in a 68-44 loss at the hands of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point inside Gregory Arena.
In a contest in which they never led, North Central fell behind 10-4 early and never regained composure, as the Pointers took a 23-13 lead into the second quarter and led by double-digits the remainder of the game.
North Central shot a combined 1-for-19 from three-point range over the course of the first three quarters and at one point in the fourth quarter were just 1-of-23 from beyond the arc. Aside from three-point range, the Cardinals shot 54 percent from the field, but were doomed by the lack of three-point efficiency, finishing the game shooting a season-low 11 percent.
UW-Stevens Point finished the contest shooting 39 percent from the field, but held a drastic 55-25 rebounding advantage, including a 21-4 margin on the offensive glass.
Mayson Whipple was the lone Cardinal in double figures with 11 points, while
Lyndsay Brennan added eight and no other Cardinal finished with more than four.
Taylor Barrett led the Pointers with a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Ashley Leiterman also added 13 points.
