CHICAGO (Feb. 4, 2017) - Bolstered by season-best scoring outputs from senior Jagger Anderson and junior Erwin Henry, the North Central College men's basketball team came from behind once again Saturday evening to extend its winning streak to four games, defeating 20th-ranked North Park University, 73-67, on the Vikings' home court.

The Cardinals (13-8, 7-5 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) won after trailing at halftime for the third straight contest, closing the game out with a 10-3 run in the final four minutes. North Central got a career-high scoring effort from Anderson for the second straight game, as the lone senior on the Cardinals' roster totaled 25 points on 9 of 15 shooting, while Henry tied a season high with 24 points in a sharpshooting performance which saw him sink 8 of 9 field-goal attempts, 4 of 4 three-pointers and 4 of 4 free throws.

After leading throughout most of the early going, the Cardinals owned a 26-18 advantage midway through the first half before North Park (15-5, 8-3 CCIW) scored 16 straight points in a five-minute span to take a 34-26 lead with 3:42 before halftime. North Central whittled the lead down to 34-31 late in the period before the Vikings' T.J. Cobbs came up with a steal and layup to send the hosts into the break with a 36-31 lead.

The visitors tied the score twice early in the second half before pulling back in front, 51-47, following a three-pointer by Aiden Chang and a three-point play by Tommy Koth. The Cardinals remained in front until North Park's Colin Lake connected on 3 of 4 free-throw attempts on two consecutive possessions to tie the contest at 61-61 with 5:10 to play. Anderson briefly put North Central in front with a pair of charity shots before Lake knocked down a three to put the Vikings in front, 64-63.

Henry was fouled attempting to rebound and errant North Park three-pointer and made both free throws to nudge the Cardinals ahead once again, then canned his fourth triple of the night to extend the lead to 68-64. Anderson followed with two successful free throws after rebounding another errant Viking three-point attempt, and Chang and Koth combined to make 3 of 4 free throws in the final 12 seconds to put the victory on ice.

The Cardinals made 13 of 22 field-goal attempts (59.1 percent) and made 14 of 17 free throws (82.4 percent) in the second half. North Central outrebounded the Vikings, 39-24, and has now won the battle of the boards in all 13 of its wins this season. Alex Sorenson grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and blocked three shots.

Jordan Robinson led North Park with 27 points and seven assists.

North Central travels to face 22nd-ranked Augustana College (17-4, 10-2) on Wednesday. Tipoff at the Carver Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
