STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (Mar. 22, 2017) - Three players finished with three goals as the North Central College men's lacrosse team ended its spring road trip defeating the Franciscan University Barons, 13-7, Wednesday evening inside Memorial Field.
Freshmen
Noah Parrill and
Tommy Huizinga, and sophomore
Tanner James all notched three goals while freshman
Jared Weaver collected two.
Freshmen
Steven Faux and
Sean Tomonari scooped up seven ground balls. Additionally, Faux forced three caused turnovers while freshmen
John Fitzgerald and
Steven Dale and James all forced two apiece.
In what was a total team effort, North Central scored the game's first goal in 26 seconds by freshman

Ethan Hurst. Franciscan responded with its first goal three minutes later. After a forced turnover by Huizinga, Weaver scored the Cardinal's second goal of the game. Franciscan connected with two more goals before Huizinga scored an equalizer with three minutes and 21 seconds left in the first quarter. Though the Barons would score for the fourth time with just two seconds remaining.
The Barons would continue their offensive momentum into the second quarter scoring two more goals. With the score 6-3 in favor of Franciscan a successful ground ball from James, paired with a feed to Huizinga, earned Huizinga's second goal and a North Central point. Franciscan would go on to score again before Huizinga tallied his third goal of the game with 4:44 left in the quarter.
North Central amped up its offense scoring four goals in the third quarter to hold off Franciscan defensively with none and take the lead. The Cardinals would go on to score four more goals and extend their perfect record to 7-0 so far this season.
North Central hosts Concordia University Wisconsin next Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 7 p.m. inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
