Jan. 23, 2018 – In the first installment of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Player of the Week awards for the 2018 season, North Central College middle blocker Brendan Crawford was selected as offensive player of the week. The MCVL announced the awards on Tuesday.

Crawford led the Cardinal offense hitting .474 over the first week of the season, tallying 25 kills on just 38 total attempts as North Central is off to a 2-1 record on the young 2018 season.  Crawford also recorded four blocks and currently ranks fourth in the MCVL in hitting percentage.

North Central opened the season with a 3-1 victory over Aurora University, before splitting a home triangular last weekend, dropping a tough match to fifth-ranked New York University before bouncing back with a 3-0 shutout win over Marian University (Wisconsin).

The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 27, playing host to Benedictine University at 1 p.m. inside Gregory Arena.  The link to live in-game statistics is available HERE.
