Oct. 4, 2018 - The North Central College men's soccer team was awarded the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2017-2018 academic year on Thursday, the eighth consecutive year they have received the award.
To qualify for the award, a program is required to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for a full academic year. The Cardinals were able to accumulate a team grade point average of 3.34, which is the highest mark that they have received while winning the award.
North Park and Illinois Wesleyan are the other two men's programs in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) to appear on the list other than the Cardinals.
North Central finished the 2017 season 8-9-1 (5-3-0 CCIW) and currently is 7-3-0 (2-1-0 CCIW) in the 2018 campaign. They take the field next against Carroll University on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Waukesha, Wis.
