Mar. 31, 2018 - Putting together a season-high scoring effort for the second straight outing, the North Central College women's lacrosse team got contributions from all over the roster in Saturday's 23-5 victory over the University of Northwestern (Minnesota) at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

The Cardinals had nine different players score at least one goal, outshot the Eagles, 44-12, as they came within a single score of matching the program's single-game record of (24) as they improved to 9-1 on the season. North Central also connected on five free-position goals to bring its season total to 46, breaking the school single-season record of 42 set just last season.

After yielding the game's first goal, the Cardinals got free-position scores from Jessica Deetjen and Mynk Richardson-Clerk to open a run of five unanswered goals before carrying an 11-4 advantage into halftime. Two separate 6-0 scoring runs in the second period kept Northwestern (2-7) from getting back into contention.

Deetjen, Christina Truver and Addie Records shared the team scoring lead with four goals each for North Central, which improved to 6-0 in home games this season. Truver also nabbed 11 draw controls, while Richardson-Clerk picked up six ground balls and Madeline McHugh, Rebecca Claussen and Nelle Scranton each caused three turnovers. Camille Seghesio recorded her fifth win of the season in goal, saving six shots.

The Cardinals open College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Wednesday, hosting Augustana College at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Naperville Community Television, Channel 17, and nctv17.com.
