CCIW Press Release

Sept. 18, 2018 - The North Central College men's soccer team claims their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) player of the week award for the 2018 season this week, with junior forward Alexis Flores taking the honors for Offensive Player of the Week.

Flores has scored three goals in the past week for the Cardinals, who have gone 3-0 during that time. The physics major scored twice on Sept. 15 in a 3-1 win against Nebraska Wesleyan University. He added another goal against Benedictine University on Sept. 17, with the Cardinals winning that game by a 3-2 final.

Currently, Flores is tied for the conference lead with four goals, and is tied for second in total points at eight. This is the second time that Flores has won the award, the first time coming on Sept. 9, 2017. He is also the sixth player in North Central men's soccer program history to win the award more than once in his career.

Flores and the Cardinals take their three-game winning streak and 4-2 record into CCIW play, with their first match up coming against Millikin University on Saturday, Sept. 22.
