Sept. 18, 2018 – North Central College women's cross country runner Dianne Barajas has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 17. The conference announced its selections on Tuesday.
 
Barajas earned the distinction following a first-place finish at the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15, completing the 6,000-meter course with a time of 22:09.0. North Central placed fourth out of 17 teams, the highest finish among all other CCIW competitors.
 
This is the Cardinals' second Athlete of the Week honoree this season as Madelyn Scopp was the Athlete of the Week on Sept. 4.
