AURORA, Ill. (Sept. 28, 2018) –
Closing out the shortened fall portion of the schedule on Friday against NAIA opponent Roosevelt University, the North Central College men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 defeat in a match moved indoors to Eola Tennis Academy due to weather.

Beginning the day with doubles play, Roosevelt earned 8-3 and 8-5 victories at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, before the Cardinal duo of Tyler Haizel and Andy Hinch pulled out a tough 8-7 win at No. 2, cutting the match score 2-1 heading into singles play.

Roosevelt (2-0) turned in a strong performance in singles play, claiming the first four positions, each in straight sets to clinch the match.  The Cardinals (0-1) did claim wins at No. 5 and No. 6 however, as Jon Stroede won by injury default at No. 6 and Marco Davila took care of Kevin Day in straight 6-1 sets.

North Central kicks off the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 2, hosting Wartburg College (Iowa) and Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wisconsin) in a triangular with the date and time to be announced.
