Sept. 4, 2018 – North Central College men's cross country student-athlete Dhruvil Patel has been awarded the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 4. The CCIW announced its selection on Tuesday.
 
Patel led North Central to victory at the Elmhurst College Earlybird Invitational on Friday, Aug. 31, crossing the finish line at the end of the 6-kilometer course in a time of 18:46.4. Patel and the Cardinals claimed 19 of the top 20 spots at the season opener.
 
The Cardinals are back in action on Friday, Sept. 7 at the Aurora University Spartan Classic with race time set for 5:45 p.m.
