Box Score

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (Sept. 7, 2018) - Despite being outshot by a wide margin throughout, the North Central College men's soccer team kept the game against Carleton College close, but ultimately fell 2-1.

Carleton (3-0) struck first in the game, scoring off a rebound from a save by North Central junior goalie Marco Soto. Not to be outdone, the Cardinals struck right back, when senior Joe Trocki put a shot into the lower right corner of the net to even the score two minutes later.

The next 30 minutes of game time were filled with shots by Carleton's forwards, with most of them thwarted by Soto and the Cardinal defense. The Knights struck again, though, in the 59th minute, making the game 2-1, which it stayed for the remainder of the game.

In their next match up, the Cardinals, who dropped to 1-1 on the season, take on #6 University of St. Thomas. The game is set to start at 1:00 pm at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Live stats for the game can be found HERE.
