CCIW Press Release
Oct. 14, 2019 - For the third time in four weeks, the North Central College football program claims the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week award, as junior wide receiver Andrew Kamienski was so honored for the second time in 2019 on Monday.
Kamienski's selection follows the Cardinals' 42-14 win over Augustana College at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Saturday, during which he caught 11 passes to push his career total to 182 to break the North Central career record (179) previously held by Steve Hlavac '11. Kamienski gained 135 yards, pushing him past the 100-yard mark for the fifth straight game, and scored a career-high three touchdowns.
Also the recipient of Player of the Week and D3football.com Team of the Week accolades following a 46-13 win at Washington University in St. Louis on Sept. 21, Kamienski currently leads the CCIW in receptions (53), receiving yards (668) and touchdowns (8). He ranks third in the Cardinals' history in receiving yards (2,406) and touchdown receptions (23) and seventh in all-purpose yards (2,733).
Ranked No. 8 by D3football.com and No. 10 by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), North Central (4-1, 3-1 CCIW) travels to face conference rival Carroll University (1-4, 0-4) on Saturday. Kickoff at Schneider Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Click HERE for the full 2019 schedule.
