Kenosha, Wis. (Oct. 16, 2019) – After conceding an early goal in the seventh minute to Carthage College (7-8, 2-2 CCIW), the North Central College men's soccer team (9-4-1, 4-1 CCIW) notched two unanswered goals off of the foot of junior Spencer Wiese to give North Central the 2-1 come from behind victory.

The Red Men got the action started early as Matteo Costa found the back of the net in just the seventh minute of gameplay off of a Cardinal deflection. North Central rebounded quickly as Elijah Larson set up Wiese who scored his first goal of the night in the 11th minute. Both teams stepped up their defensive efforts as the score remained tied 1-1 at the half.

Following back-and-forth efforts from both sides, North Central struck again as Wiese found the back of the net for the second time to give the Cardinals a 2-1 advantage. Senior goalkeeper Marco Soto kept the Red Men scoreless for the remainder of the second-half as North Central ties their win total from a season ago by earning their ninth win of the season.

As a team, North Central took ten shots, five of which were on target. Senior Alexis Flores led the team by recording three total shots. Carthage tallied 13 shots, four of which came on goal. Soto made three saves on the night as his record improves to 9-4-1 on the year. Niko Mavrogiannis also posted three saves as he moves to 4-6 on the season.
