CCIW Press Release
Oct. 28, 2019 - North Central College running back Ethan Greenfield has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Football Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 26, earning the distinction for the first time in his collegiate career.
Greenfield received the honor due to his contributions to the Cardinals' 49-6 victory over Carthage College at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Saturday. He ran for a career-high 208 yards (easily surpassing his previous career high of 145) on just 13 rushing attempts, posting the 10th-highest single-game rushing yardage total in the program's history. His 250 all-purpose yards, also a career high, matches North Central's sixth-highest single-game total all-time. Greenfield scored two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown, finding the end zone multiple times for the third straight game, and has rushed for at least 100 yards in each of the Cardinals' last four games.
The current CCIW leader in rushing yards (833) and rushing touchdowns (10) this season, Greenfield wins North Central's fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor in the past six weeks. Wide receiver Andrew Kamienski was so recognized following the Cardinals' wins over Washington University in St. Louis (Sept. 21) and Augustana College (Oct. 12), while quarterback Broc Rutter was selected for the award after North Central's victory over North Park University on Sept. 28.
Ranked No. 7 by D3football.com and No. 8 by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), North Central (6-1, 5-1 CCIW) travels to face conference rival Elmhurst College (1-6, 1-5) on Saturday. Kickoff at Langhorst Field is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Click HERE for the full 2019 schedule and live coverage options.
