CHICAGO, Ill. (Oct. 30, 2019) –
Closing out the 2019 season, the North Central College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) match at North Park University on Wednesday.

The turning point of the opening set came with the score knotted 9-9, as North Park (11-17, 1-6 CCIW) rattled off seven of the next nine points to open up a 16-11 lead and closed out the set 25-16 as the Cardinals were plagued by seven attack errors.

A kill from Kaitlyn Boelter-Eberhardt and a North Park attack error gave North Central a 2-0 lead in the second set, but the Vikings rallied for five straight points to overtake the lead and that was the last time the Cardinals held the lead the rest of the match.

The Cardinals pulled to within one late as a Kaylee Allensworth kill trimmed the score 16-15 but consecutive blocks and a kills from the Vikings opened their lead back to four.

After the Vikings claimed the second set 25-20, North Park went on to score the first seven points of the third set and take the winds out of the Cardinal sails once and for all.

North Central had trouble containing the North Park offense all evening, as the Vikings finished with a match-high 16 kills in the final set.  Four Vikings finished with eight or more kills, led by nine from Niki Ahlstrand and eight from each of Kailyn Matthews, Reagan Clement and Kate Widman.

Six kills from Reagan Raymer led North Central, while Boelter-Eberhardt and Sarah Geosling each finished with five.  Kiarah Horn and Maya Bryant each added 10 assists, while Lexi Barry and Katelynn Kuehl each tallied eight digs.

North Central finishes out the 2019 season with an overall record of 5-24, while going 0-8 in conference play.
