CCIW Release
Oct. 8, 2019 – Following a phenomenal performance at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday, North Central College men's cross country runner
Kyle Bell has been named this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week. The CCIW announced its latest selections on Tuesday.
Bell improved his 8,000-meter personal best by more than 68 seconds as he led North Central's squad through the Blue Division Race, crossing the line in a time of 24 minutes and 55.5 second to place sixth among 515 competitors from Division I, II, III and NAIA schools. The Cardinals landed all five of their scorers in the top-20 to finish first in the 57-team field at E.P. Sawyer park, where the team will return on Nov. 23 for the National Championship.
This marks the fourth CCIW Athlete of the Week Award the program has received this season, with
Matt Osmulski owning the other three.
North Central returns to St. James Farm on Oct. 11 for the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational. Race time is set for 4:45 p.m.
