ALMA, Mich. (Mar. 9, 2019) – Taking the lead early and never looking back, the North Central College men's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 and scored its first win on the road this season, defeating Alma College (2-4) on the Scots' home turf at Bahlke Field.
Alma's Tom Needham connected with Jared Nycz for the first goal of the game less than five minutes into play, but the Cardinals pulled ahead with a 4-1 lead after
Noah Parrill,
Jared Weaver,
Tanner James and
Matt Sheinfeld found the back of the net. The Scots got in one more goal with under thirty to go in the first period but going into halftime, it was North Central with the 9-4 advantage, thanks to back-to-back goals from James to close out the half.
Parrill started North Central's second half scoring in the first thirty seconds out of the locker room and
Tommy Huizinga followed suit to extend the lead, 11-4. Alma tried to hold on, scoring two goals midway through the fourth period, albeit too little, too late.
