CCIW Release

Sept. 24, 2019 – After helping lead his team to victory over two nationally-ranked programs on Saturday, North Central College men's cross country runner Matt Osmulski has been honored as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week, earning his third distinction of the season.

Running on the familiar grounds of St. James Farm, Matt Osmulski clocked a time of 25 minutes and 19.7 seconds at the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational to finish the 8-kilometer race in second-place. The Cardinals won the meet with 29 points, followed by the third-ranked Washington University (Mo.) with 49 points and the 14th-ranked University of Chicago (52 points).

This is Osmulksi's second consecutive CCIW Athlete of the Week Award after being honored last week for his performance at the Illinois State University Invitational. His latest honor is the program's 50th weekly award since its introduction prior to the 2009 season.

The Cardinals are off until they send squads to the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational, hosted by Augustana College, on Oct. 4 and the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Oct. 5.
