Scholar All-American List
Jan. 27, 2020 - Following up on their third straight USA Triathlon Division III national title,
Madelyn Scopp and
Nicole Huff have been named to the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association's Scholar All-American list, the association announced Monday.
To qualify for the list, student-athletes must finish within the top-20 within their division at the national championship and maintain a 3.5 grade point average throughout the fall semester of their competition season. For an honorable mention selection, the student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 grade point average but have finished outside the top-20 at the national championship.
Scopp came out of the national championship as victorious, having won the third straight individual title for the Cardinals. The psychology major completed the three-part race in 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 8 seconds to capture the win.
Huff, a freshman transfer student-athlete, finished 12th in the same race, completing the course in 1:19:03 and was the fifth Cardinal to cross the finish line.
The triathlon team looks to come back in 2020 with their fourth national title in as many years.
