Feb. 10, 2020 - Notching his first start of the year last week, North Central College men's volleyball freshman
Parker Nelson captured his first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week, taking home the honors as a defense/setter/libero, the conference announced Monday.
Nelson recorded 14 digs against Marian University on Saturday in the Cardinal's 3-0 win over the Sabres. His 14 digs ties the program record in a three-set match, matching his teammate
Michael Trunzo from last year. Nelson also recorded an assist in the match.
This marks the third instance this season of the program having a conference player of the week, with
Jason Eslinger and Trunzo winning the award previously.
The Cardinals look to have their first winning streak of the season, facing off against Lakeland University on Feb. 11. Click
