Feb. 17, 2020 - Leading their squad to a four-win week last week, North Central College men's volleyball student-athletes
Justin Curtis and
Jason Eslinger have been named the Offensive and Defensive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Athletes of the Week this week, the conference announced Monday.
The two seniors add to an impressive streak of conference athletes of the week for the squad, marking the fourth straight week at least one Cardinal has received the award.
Curtis had an outstanding week on the attack, recording 30 kills over 13 sets for a per-set average of 2.31. He also hit an outstanding 0.560, leading the team over the week. He also managed nine blocks for an average of 0.69 per set.
Eslinger took on some defensive duties in addition to his usual offensive role this week, recording 34 digs over the week, averaging 3.38 per set, leading the team. He was also second on the team in total blocks with 11 over the four games.Â
The two helped the team move to 7-3 on the year with their four wins last week while increasing their overall win streak to five. They host North Park University on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7 pm inside Merner Fieldhouse. Click
