Mar. 10, 2020 -Â Averaging nearly four kills per set over a week that saw the team upset the number one team in the nation at the time, North Central College men's volleyball freshman
Jared Moser has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as the Division III national player of the week, the organization announced Tuesday.
Moser recorded 35 kills over two matches last week, with 17 coming against no. 1 New York University in a five-set thriller of a win followed by 18 against Augustana College across a four set victory on Saturday. He hit 0.343 over the stretch while also recording 11 digs on the defensive side of things. His 18 kills against Augustana marks the third-most in program history in a four-set match, only behind
Jason Eslinger's 19 from last season and 20 from
Bozhidar Kolev '19 back in 2018.
This is the first occasion that a member of the program has received the player of the week award on the national stage, with Moser winning the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) player of the week on Feb. 24.
The Cardinals look for another big win Wednesday evening, traveling to Dubuque, Iowa to take on Loras College at 7 pm. Click
