DUBUQUE, IOWA (Mar. 11, 2020) - Looking to strengthen their position in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) standings this season, the North Central College men's volleyball team finished off their next closest competitor in the likes of Loras College on Wednesday evening, besting the Duhawks in three sets.

The closest set came in the first, with the Cardinals topping the Duhawks by a 25-22 score. A pair of freshmen in Jared Moser and Jeremy Cardenas led the way for the Cardinals, with Moser recording a 5-2-7 attacking line while Cardenas hit a perfect 3-0-3 in the set. Jason Eslinger also got in on the action with three kills on seven attempts.

Increasing their hitting percentage as they went, the Cardinals moved into the driver's seat in the second set with a 25-20 victory, hitting 0.345 as a team to move up 2-0 and looking for a clean sweep. Moser again played great in the frame, recording four kills on six attempts while Eslinger had five kills.

Much of the same came in the third and final set for the Cardinals, hitting 0.360 while trampling the Duhawks by a 25-13 tally to close out the match.

Overall, Moser was the top attacker for the Cardinals with 12 kills on 19 attempts and a 0.526 attacking percentage following being named the national player of the week. Cardenas also impressed with seven kills on nine attempts with no errors and Eslinger recording 10 kills as well. Michael Trunzo led the squad in assists per usual with 34, also recording four digs on the evening.

The Cardinals (12-6, 5-1 CCIW) look to keep their roll going with a match against Greenville University next Wednesday. Click HERE for live stats and HERE for live video of the contest.
