2019-2020 AVCA Team Academic Award

July 20, 2020 -- For the first time in program history, the North Central College men's volleyball team was honored with the Team Academic Award by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), awarding its success in the classroom during the 2019-2020 academic year.
 
The team academic award has been presented since the 1992-93 academic year and honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. 
 
North Central was one of 38 teams across all NCAA divisions to earn the award and also earned a spot on the Team Academic Honor Roll, finishing in the top-seven in overall grade-point average.  Joining North Central on the Academic Honor Roll were Harvard University, Messiah College, Ohio State University, Stanford University, Stevens Institute of Technology and Vassar College.
 
North Central and Carthage College were the lone College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) teams to receive the award this past season.
