ELMHURST, Ill. / CHICAGO (Oct. 9, 2021) - Competing in two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) matches, the North Central College women's tennis team picked up two wins on the day by taking down Elmhurst 9-0 in the morning before beating North Park 8-1 in the afternoon.
Head coach
Ryan Jump secured his 100th and 101st career victories today as the Cardinals move to 10-0 and extend their conference winning streak to 15 matches, dating back to 2019.
Looking for their fifth straight win over the Bluejays, the doubles teams of

Natalie Bassett/
Kayla McSweeney each rolled to 8-0 wins while
Nina Patience/
Katie McGraw won at the No. 3 doubles position, 8-2.
Hougland,
Sydney Sawyer, and McSweeney captured 6-0, 6-0 wins at their respective positions in singles play. Picking up her first CCIW win of the season,
Linsy Jante won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.
Kaeli Smashey and
Natalie Bassett also won their singles matches in two sets to secure the sweep for the Cardinals.
After making the trek from Elmhurst to Chicago, the Cardinals showed no signs of slowing down by sweeping doubles play for the second time today as each tandem won 8-1 over their respective Viking opponents.
Sawyer won the first singles match of the contest as her opponent withdrew due to injury in the second set. Looking for the clinch, Smashey downed Nikolina Kisin 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 position. Hougland won her fourth match of the day by winning 6-1, 6-0 against Lisa Viuhkonen. Kanthaphixay bounced back after falling in the first set to win her match at the No. 3 position while
Sjana Henderson locked up her third win of the year 6-2, 6-1. McSweeney won her first set 6-2 before injuring her ankle, giving North Park their lone win of the match.
North Central hosts Carthage on Saturday in their final match before the CCIW Fall Championships. The match is set to begin at 11 AM in Naperville.
