Emily Stallmann of the North Central College women's volleyball team was named to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Second Team for her performance this year.
Kendra Battle won the Cardinals' RESPECT Award for the 2021 season, the organization released on Monday afternoon.
The St. Charles, Ill. native finished the year with 284 digs at libero, averaging 4.58 per set which ranked third in the conference. In the Cardinals' match against Illinois Wesleyan University on Oct. 6th, Stallmann tallied a season-high 26 digs over the four sets played, good for second-most in the CCIW for a four-set match. Stallmann won the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 26th.
Besides leading North Central in digs, she also placed second in service aces with 23 and third in assists with 56. The sophomore was targeted 406 times on serves and posted a 0.943 reception percentage on the year.
Battle, a sophomore from North Aurora, Ill., was the North Central recipient of the RESPECT Award. RESPECT Award recipients distinguish themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
North Central concluded their season in the CCIW with an eighth-place finish, posting a 2-6 conference record. Overall, the Cardinals went 7-10 on the year.
